Responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of global, high-volume server architecture Administration and maintenance of the existing production environment (Linux cluster with over 30 servers) Optimization of the server architecture and definition for new projects Load balancing and performance optimizations Proactive identification of problems before they affect the production environment Monitoring and network security Evaluation of new technologies

Requirements

Fluent English skills, German is of advantage 5 or more years of experience as Linux server administrator for senior level position In-depth knowledge of Linux basics as well as kernel subsystems, system calls, interprocess communication, process/resource management and file systems In-depth knowledge of the Linux networking stack In-depth knowledge in the administration of high volume production systems In-depth knowledge of nginx including performance optimization for high volume web traffic Knowledge of automatization using bash, perl, python or ruby Knowledge of cgroup based virtualization with lxc Knowledge of configuration management with puppet Knowledge of load balancing with LVS Knowledge of volume management with LVM Knowledge of MySQL including replication and cluster management Installation, configuration and error recovery of services like DNS, SMTP, SSH and DHCP In-depth knowledge about TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers and switches Experience with NAS devices and RAID Of benefit: experience with CDN providers, memcache, mercurial

Salary for Senior position:

€2200,- to €2600,- net per month (incl. 13th & 14th salary this is €32.000,/€38.000, net per year)
