Every day software breaks down and programs or systems fail due to incorrect code. One of the biggest bottlenecks in software development is the challenge of quickly hiring good programmers. We want the world to have better software, as we believe that the quality of our lives depends on it.

Codility solves the acute problem of hiring programmers so that instead of spending most of their time interviewing the wrong candidates, Software Engineering teams can focus on what they do best – create software. We create programming tests that automatically assess the quality of the solutions. This is a powerful way for programmers to demonstrate their skills and for companies to test the fundamental competences of programmers being recruited. We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong focus on Front-End to join our Development Team and work closely with our product team to ensure fast delivery.

Your role:
You will join a team focused on delivering the best product to our customers – recruiters, to enable them to quickly hire better programmers. You will work alongside our Product Lead, UX designer and other developers in a cross-functional team to deliver great business value for Codility. You will take responsibility for the front-end part of our system, teach us more about quick frontend implementation and show us best practices in web development and web creation frameworks. And last but not least you will become a part of a team of excellent programmers that are fun to pair program with!

You:
are very hands-on and are ready to tackle real-world challenges,
love Front-End but are happy to dig into Back-End,
are passionate about newest HTML and CSS standards,
have experience with writing maintainable JavaScript code and unit tests
are appearance oriented and you are excited to build quick, great quality website compatible with every device out there, with the help of our UX designer,
understand our customers and treat their feedback as a learning point,
know how different browsers work and have experience dealing with web security issues,
have impeccable English skills,
know all there is to know about HTTP servers,
ideally have participated in building a number of e-commerce, transactional and commercial sites.

Our offices:
We work from Warsaw University Library (a multi-award winning building by the Vistula river with a rooftop garden and ground floor full of cafes and restaurants) and a co-working space in San Francisco. We work hard, get challenged every day and learn a great deal. We also go out to cool places and spend a lot of time together. We own a drone and a (toy) helicopter but the work we do is serious.

Warsaw University’s Institute of Informatics (MIMUW) is a top-notch CS faculty worldwide. It hosted ACM-ICPC 2012 and is alma mater to world champions in programming and 1/3 of our team.
