Job description

• Install, configure, maintain, administer and build databases and data structures on Oracle, MS SQL, and MYSQL
• Troubleshoot database server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
• Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
• As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies
• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
• Implement and enforce security for all of the databases
• Document the company’s database environment

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience
• Experience with Oracle RAC
• Knowledge of RHEL & Windows operating system, K-Shell, C-Shell and various UNIX/Linux utilities.
• Experience with T-SQL
• Experience with performance tuning
• Experience with design and implementation of SQL Server Disaster Recovery to meet defined business objectives
• Experience with implementation and support of high availability features including Clustering, Always On, Database Mirroring, and Replication
• Working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 to 2014
• Strong problem solving skills with the desire to find the root of a problem and propose solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
