Job Description

The eCommerce development team is responsible for all development, testing and deployment activities for a new cross-product online trading application. As a team member you will cover a variety of roles including development, technical design, test management and coordination, business analysis, test execution and deployment management. The eCommerce IT team utilise agile methodologies with testing occurring throughout the lifecycle, iteration by iteration with a strong emphasis on automated deployments, testing and short release cycles. The core team is located in London but there will be large scale integration with teams located around the globe (London, New York, Zurich, Poland, Kiev etc).

Responsibilities:

•detailed manual testing of new functionality & regression testing of existing functionality (Client, API and Server side testing). Validation will be performed against the server client logs, database, XML messages between the client & server as well as the front end applications
•using the logs, database etc., perform comprehensive analysis of any error to assist in working out the issue prior to recording in the defect tracking tool
•compatibility / Usability testing of the online applications on multiple client desktop configurations (OS, browser, plug-ins and languages)
•working closely with developers to resolve issues and assist with Unit Testing, during development lifecycle
•validate that the solution is fit for purpose and supports the full end-to-end client business process
•working with our business partners to attach robust acceptance tests to every story
•identifying test conditions from project documentation and developing test cases which provide full coverage
•assist key business end-users in user acceptance testing
•assist other QA members in technical testing

Requirements

•excellent testing experience of the full testing lifecycle from unit testing to user acceptance testing
•good understanding and knowledge of Test Methodologies
•working knowledge of SQL and RDBMS databases
•good knowledge on Unix /Linux environments and basic Unix shell scripting
•understanding on non functional testing like failover, resilience, load testing
•ability to prioritise and organise
•results driven – able to deliver good quality accurate solutions to tight time-scales
•conscientious – Always give 100% to tasks assigned
•versatile – Able to multi-task
•team Player – must be able to work with and participate within a large professional team
•strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills

Additional assets:
•ISEB Software Testing Certification – Foundation /Intermediate /Practitioner
•previous experience testing online eCommerce applications
•understanding of Performance and Load testing with LoadRunner experience
•automated testing skills preferably Test Complete
•understanding on Adobe Flex,HTML5 technologies
•knowledge of Unit Testing and Agile Methodologies
•knowledge of scripting (VB, VBScript, Shell, Perl etc)
